A catch-all e-mailbox is one that captures all the email messages sent to inactive email addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone miswrites it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Just one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and in this way you will never miss emails because the other side has an out-of-date email address or has made a spelling error. The downside of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of spam email messages, but this problem can be solved by using an anti-spam protection solution. It’s also crucial to bear in mind that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot redirect incoming emails to a third-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting

If you’ve got a website hosting with us and you want to enable the catch-all option for a particular mailbox that you’ve got in your hosting account, it will take literally just one single click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available on the right-hand side of each email address that you have set up under any domain registered in your account. You can pick one address per domain name by clicking on the corresponding button. This will activate the feature straight away, so all emails sent to misspelled email addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking the button again will deactivate the catch-all feature. If you have active email forwarding, our system will show a warning notification and you will not be able to activate the catch-all feature until you disable the forwarding or you can simply pick another mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all functionality can be enabled easily in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server account with us. All the email addresses that you have created with the domains hosted in the account will be shown in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you’ll notice a mini sign conveniently situated right next to each one of them. With only a single click of the mouse, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your desire provided that there isn't another mailbox under the same domain name with the option already enabled and there isn't enabled email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on a mailbox and activate this option using the context menu that will pop up. In case any of the preconditions for creating a catch-all mailbox is not met, our system will let you know, but will not replace or deactivate anything automatically.
